Resolution of Trigeminal Neuralgia:  A Story About One Woman’s Journey

We would like to share with you an incredible story told by one of our clients Nancy.  Nancy’s story highlights her journey through a debilitating condition known as Trigeminal Neuralgia and how Upper Cervical Chiropractic helped her!  She wanted us to share, and who knows, it might save someone’s life.

A Letter to Keystone Specific:

I have been seeing Dr. Bill Moss at Keystone Specific since November of 2018.  In a real sense, it is to him I owe my life.  Because until I got to him, I had lost all hope.  Horrific facial pain had taken over my life.  This was not pain that could be dismissed, or medicated; it was excruciating, shocking, and impossible to prepare for.  As suddenly as a raised eyebrow, a smile, a breeze, a bite of food, cold air, shower water, or just turning my head, and WHAM!  It struck like a bolt of hot lightning up through my nose and around my eye and across my forehead into my scalp stopping just short of killing me, at least I thought I might have died.  As time passed, it did not abate but grew more persistent and debilitating.

It finally had a name:  Trigeminal Neuralgia.  Of course, there were months filled with misdiagnosis, fruitless doctor appointments, CT scans, MRIs, medications that did not work, and finally, I was left with prospects of surgical procedures straight out of horror movies.  I cannot count the hours spent searching for hope in medical journals, research papers, and thousands of personal stories and logs filled with desperation and despair.  I began to think about the unthinkable.

Finally, hope came by way of a text message from my sister imploring me to see an Upper Cervical Chiropractor.  Why had I never heard of this?  I found that Upper Cervical Chiropractors were out there, though not in great numbers.  There were testimonials of their approach to care and optimum health, and not just for Trigeminal Neuralgia.  No drugs, no surgeries, just a correction of a misaligned Atlas and Axis bones and time for the body to heal itself.

I can smile now and wash my face.  I will not soon forget the trauma of that pain, though I have been pain-free for months.  My care continues, and I am forever indebted to my friends and family, who without hesitation supported me and drove me through all kinds of weather, week after week, two and a half hours to Dr. Moss’s office.  My gratitude for Dr. Moss’s care is immeasurable, because he may not know it, but he truly saved my life.
