Tytron: Digital Infrared Technology

In the office or online, you hear that at Keystone Specific Chiropractic Center the doctor uses the latest technology to assess the clients nervous system. But what does that mean? It means that they use a device called a Tytron to scan the skin of your back and neck to check for any pressure or interference along the spine.

Checking the Nervous System

The human body and all of its organs are controlled by the nervous system. These nerves are like a massive highway system; they run from the brain, down the spinal column, and spread to all areas of the body. These nerves travel to the heart, lungs, GI tract, the muscles of our neck and back and our skin. This is how the brain is able to control and regulate the rest of the body. Sometimes there is interference along the way, like a traffic jam, that can create pressure along a nerve and in turn affects the organ or muscle that the nerve is travelling to. The best way to know where that interference, traffic jam, is occurring is to check the function of the nervous system with technology like Tytron.

Each of the nerves leaving the spinal column travel to specific areas of the body and specific areas of the skin (our largest organ). The different areas are known as dermatomes. There are eight dermatomes in the neck, twelve in the middle of the back, five in the lower back and five in the tailbone/sacrum area. There are so many nerves in those areas because they have a large area that they have to regulate and control. We experience this when we go outside without a jacket and we notice that we have goosebumps on our arms but not on our legs. The skin in different areas of your body will respond differently to different stimuli. The reason for the goosebumps is because the nervous system uses vasoconstriction and vasodilation of the deep capillary beds to help regulate the body temperature.

Tytron

The Tytron is able to read the deep capillary beds of the body and can tell if there is pressure on the nerves that run deep within the body. This tool offers the ability to see that the nervous system is not functioning optimally and shows what areas are affected by the pressure. This technology allows the doctors to see the dysfunction of the nervous system and allows them to monitor the function while a client is under care. It’s always important to feel better but it’s more important to function better.

If you’re interested in seeing how your nervous system functions then come in and have it checked!
